Dr. David Olawale Delivers Goodwill Message at 2nd Femi Olomola Lecture

I want to congratulates the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners,  LSC and Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria,  LSB on the occasion of the 2nd Femi Olomola Annual Lecture holding today 30th July, 2024.

Distinguished Members and Colleagues here will agree with me that, the 1st edition of this lecture was singlehandedly organised by the Lagos State Chapter of NITP but this time around,  it is a joint arrangement of both NITP  LSC and ATOPCON,  LSB.  This is a testament to the impact made in this profession by the man we are immortalising with this great event.

At some part of life or other, we all become memories for others. So make sure you be a good one. It is very important to put it on record that, this Annual Lecture in honour of our late Past President is in recognition of his  immense contributions towards the growth of Urban and Regional Planning profession which cannot be quantified.

Our focus at this year Annual Lecture; ‘’CLIMATE CHANGE AND FOOD SECURITY IN NIGERIA: CHALLENGES AND  SOLUTIONS’’ is very apt as it centred on the current state of our nation economy, environmental condition and our practises in general.

In light of the foregoing, I will like to challenge us as professionals to make judicious use of this opportunity to further ruminate on the way forward and chart the appropriate course for a more sustainable practice as it affects our nation’s economy.

Once again, I congratulate all of us including the immediate and extended family of our late hero.
